Join us for Central PA's first DG Footlights™ series!
Please join us on Sunday, January 29 at 2pm for a DG Footlights™ reading of On Our Way to the Fair by Bill Savage at the Open Stage of Harrisburg.
Sunday, January 29
Synopsis: "Two acts of this play take place in 1939, and one in 1964. All revolve, indirectly, around the New York World's Fairs of those years. It is a story of intra-family relationships, dreams shattered by the force of history, and of the aspirations of second-generation immigrants in America. The main theme involves the continuity of generations and of youth across decades. Many of the issues these characters face are still being faced by young people from immigrant families in America today."
Running time: 2 hours
Themes: Immigration, politics, family issues
DG Footlights™ is a program, created and moderated by the Dramatists Guild, that connects dramatists with free space in which to hold a public reading of a new work that is currently in development. This initiative operates on a space-grant model: a representative from the Guild will arrange for a venue to donate space during allocated dates and times, and will ensure that the space is available for dramatists to use to present a self-produced reading to the public, with an optional feedback session following the reading.
Attendance is always free and open to all.
